New Journeys...

Wow 2011 was my last blog, I basically set up Blogspot and that was it.Well I am determined to try and 'use' it properly!!!!

So what have I been up to from now until then???? Well in terms of education, I have completed a Natural Healing course with the Animal Care College and have just started a level 2 course with them in Canine Pyschology.

I am still working as a professional groomer and its still the best job all round. I love the fact I work with 100's of different breeds and cheeky characters, very satisfying.

I have started a new amazing adventure...bespoke one-off dog collars and accessories, which started off as purely a hobby but is actually turning out to be something so much more. I have a little Shop on ebay, which has been used as a platform to start.
I was asked by a vintage dress making company(Vintage by cupcake) to make a collar and lead set, with the instructions of it 2 be pink and blingy...that I could deliver:). This set is being used in a business photoshoot and wouldn't be complete without lots of cupcake charms to add a personal touch to it!!!
Continuing design and assembling true, what I believe are little works of art, fit to adorn all fur babies everywhere.

I am so enjoying the process of this journey that I know I'm on the right path:)... x x

Setting up twitter and facebook.

Today I've been setting up twitter and facebook. I have my first follower on twitter, which is very exciting!

I've been tweeting about bulls bits and what great treats they make for all dogs. Some people are put off by what they actually are and that they really are quite smelly but your dogs would thank you for them. My Staffy and JR take quite awhile to devour one which is brilliant because dog toys and treats don't tend to last very long with my girls! Ask at your local pet shop if they stock them.

My 1st Blog!!!

Wow I'm writing my 1st blog, that's quite exciting. Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Erica and I have been a dog owner all my life. I own 2 dogs whom I absolutely love, Shug and Rizzie (both are bitches). Shug is an elderly lady now whose age I'm unsure of as she came from rescue kennels. I've had the pleasure of her companionship for 11 fantastic years. Shug is a brindle Staffordshire Bull X. Rizzie is my long haired Jack Russell, she is 5 years old. My mum and I bought Rizzie and her sister Millie from a breeder in Wales, the parents were worked but we keep ours as pets. Rizzie thinks she rules the roost and is sooo cheeky as is Millie!!

Have I got a favourite breed? No I haven't!!! I have been training in a professional dog groomers for a year and half now (more about that in future blogs) and have met so many different breeds that I have been left confused to my own preference as I would have them all! When I was younger I grew up with toy dogs such as Maltese and Yorkshire Terriers. I have found since that I'm quite taken with working dogs like Springers and have a big soft spot for Malamutes too.

The subject of dogs is so large and diverse that I hope to cover lots of interesting topics like breeding, training and health as well as dog related products. I feel that I've got a lifetime of learning to do and I want to share that with like-minded people and hear their experiences and opinions, so this is the place to do it.

Best Wishes
Erica
